Headache Symptoms and Causes

Headache and other head-pain symptoms may result from force imbalances that affect blood vessels, muscles, and nerves in the head, face, and neck areas. The trigeminal nucleus is the part of your nervous system that tells your brain to sense head pain. TruDenta® works to balance these forces and create a stable foundation so you are free of head pain.

Types of Headache Pain

The most common type of headache is called a tension headache. It causes a band of pain around the top and both sides of the head and neck. They result from tightening of the head, neck, and facial muscles.

Inflammatory headaches are due to inflammation or swelling.

Traction headaches are caused when pain-sensitive parts of the head, neck, or face are pulled, stretched, or displaced. The incident that caused the displacement, like whiplash or an eye-strain, may not be significant enough to remember.

Vascular headache pain, also known as a migraine or cluster headache, causes severe pain, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, dizziness, and vision impairment.

TruDenta treats several pain symptoms, including:

Clenching and grinding of the teeth

Dental wear and tooth breakage

Clicking and popping of the jaw

Discomfort in the neck or jaw

Ringing in the ears

Facial pain

Causes of Head Pain

The TruDenta system targets the improper muscle forces in the head, neck, and jaw areas that cause head pain and other painful conditions in the face, jaw, and neck areas. These conditions may be caused by several factors, including:

Head, Neck, or Body Trauma

Sports injuries, accidents, or a simple bump on the head could affect the force balances within your mouth. These incidents could have happened yesterday or many years ago. The trauma could potentially stretch or tear ligaments causing dental imbalances and head pain.

Dental Treatments

Aged restorative material, poor adaptation to dental work, wisdom tooth extraction, and other dental treatments can also cause headache symptoms.

Lifestyle

Increased stress, lack of exercise, and poor diet can result in many headache pain symptoms. Poor posture due to excessive sitting may also lead to headaches.

Age and Wear

As the body ages, so does your bite. Since teeth and the components of dental restorations (both metal and composite) age at different rates, changes in your bite over time can cause improper teeth alignment and disrupt the force balance.

If you have experienced any of the causes listed above and have head pain, contact our office today for a painless evaluation and examination utilizing the patented TruDenta System.

I’m new to the area and was in need of a new dentist and I am so happy I found them. I was nervous about finding a new dentist because I have been going to the same dentist since I was a little kid but I am so happy I did. My hygienist was so nice and didn’t shame me for not flossing but instead gave me tips and tricks for making my oral care routine more effective. Dr. Nicole and her staff staff are truly amazing, kind, professional, and make you feel so welcomed in their office.

I have been seeing Dr. Nicole for ten years and I have never had a better dentist. The staff is always so great and everyone knows my name - they're like family. I don't "hate" going to the dentist because this team makes it painless and enjoyable (if going to the dentist can be...) experience every single time.

I had not been to the dentist for a long time and decided to give them a shot. The staff were friendly but I felt like I was being up-sold on things. Not the vibe I want from a health care provider. They did a deep clean and filled 4 cavities. I have great insurance but it was still very expensive. Now here’s the part that made me take the time to write a review on here: During my follow up appointment, about 1 month after the cavities were filled, they told me I had 2 more cavities that needed to be filled. I was suspicious because of the up-selling so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. They said I didn’t have any more cavities. These people were about to drill holes in my perfectly good teeth just to charge me more. This goes beyond bad business practices into the realm of disgusting dishonesty. Completely unethical.

I have been going to designer dentistry for about five years and have had nothing but great experiences there. I will be losing my dental insurance at the end of the month and I was in today for a cleaning. They found some thing that needed to be fixed and rather than make an appointment after my insurance was gone they fit me in the same day. They are also pain-free. Would highly recommend them to everyone.

Went in because I had some wisdom tooth pain. The dentists seem to be in a rush, and at the same time were not very knowledgeable of what they were doing. They gave me a disinfecting mouthwash as they thought it would get rid of the pain, but nothing. 2 weeks in and I still have the same amount of pain. Not sure if they know what they are doing. I was hoping I would get prescribed some amoxicillin or something to cope with the pain but no. They also told me they will call me and email to follow up and give me a contact to have my wisdom teeth removed. It's been 2 weeks and nothing has happened. Wasted my time, and money.
