Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year. As we look back at 2015 we want to thank our wonderful patients for their trust in us. You are the reason we continue to learn and grow in our professional skills and strive to provide 5 star customer service. In 2015 we began to provide the very best options in TMJ therapy available anywhere in the country. We also expanded our orthodontic services to include a wonderful adult option called 6 Month Smiles. Dr Nichole completed training in dental implants so we are now able to place implants in order to replace lost teeth or secure dentures in place. We also joined forces with Dr Wightman in order to offer alternative treatments to a c-pap for those who suffer from Sleep Apnea.
In the new year we already have plans in place to add several more exciting and cutting edge minimally invasive treatment options. We are bringing ESPyOC to our office in early 2016. We will be the only practice in South Dakota to have this life saving technology. ESPyOC is a technique for accurately and painlessly detecting oral cancer. The accuracy is better than anything previously available. The idea behind this is to be able to find oral cancer at it’s earliest stage in order to save lives while being precific enough to rule out other lesions that are not cancer in order to avoid any unnecessary treatment.
We have also invested in a new laser called the LightWalker by Fotana. This laser will be used for removing tooth decay without the need for a shot. It will also be used to treat bone loss related to advancing periodontal disease which affects nearly half of the adult population. We will also be able to treat snoring and sleep apnea with this laser by tightening the soft tissues in the back of the mouth that are often the cause of snoring and airway blockages. This is the same laser that a plastic surgeon may use to treat wrinkles without the need for cutting.
Spring of 2016 Dr Nichole will be completing her training in a surgical technique called the Pinhole(tm) technique which allows us to be able to “graft” tissue back over exposed roots without the need for a donar site graft. This reduces the pain and healing by about 85% as compared with traditional techniques.
We are on a mission to prove that dentistry doesn’t have to be scary and through the use of these ultraconservative techniques that is more possible than ever. We are excited for the new year and all the wonderful advancements in dentistry many of which are only available in our area at Designer Dentistry & Smiles.
